quickrr: as a wifi card? yes, for driver support? Afaik its LinuxKPI and it can be funny with certain wifi cards, I think someone a month or two ago had a similar issue.

Also I dont believe the drivers are bootstrapped, due to redistribution clauses

in other words, you will need to install via ethernet, and then you can install the right kmod and it will *hopefully* work

polarian: thanks, i found a usb ethernet, and go it sorted now, at least amdgpu is working in gnome, i will soon i will try a speedtest to see how bad it can be for speed :)

quickrr: wifi speeds tend to be good, its usually the user experience of wifi which is the problem.

personally I append wpa_passphrase outputs to /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf and pkill -HUP wpa_supplicant to add a wifi network

its far from user friendly, but works :)

802.11ax isn't yet supported in the freebsd ieee80211 stack afaik

so it wouldn't matter anyways
