It seems the entire depends on dbus. Can we eliminate this dependency?

Eliminate dbus? lmao that's like saying "can I move around with no spine?" I remember when it landed in Linux - having to deal with all those config files, permissions, things not working. I sighed and moved on... no use fighting it.

Didn't old Solaris have tooltalk in its place or at least doing something similar?

It's not sure it's as open access as that blog makes it out to be.
