ekwve: Could've been worse! :)

GoSoxis there any easy to do these two mac things… i just realized as typing, this is more of a KDE than a freebsd question. But still, is there a way I can globally swap the functionlity of the control and command key, AND is there an easy way to have all drives show up on the desktop?
-
GoSoxtheres really are KDE questions, I should ask in a KDE channel
-
ivyGoSox: i only have Linux KDE to test, but you might find Settings > Keyboard > Configure Key Bindings... > Ctrl Position does what you want. (you'll have to work out what "Command" is mapped to, since Unix doesn't usually have that key)
-
nimajeGoSox: if you are on X and not on wayland then xmodmap should be able to do it, no idea if KDE exposes that somewhere in a GUI settings dialog
-
GoSoxivy you are my hero for the day, purrrrfect
-
GoSoxKDE calls it swapping windows and control keys, close enough
-
GoSoxluckily i’m the only one thats ever going to use this machine because a non mac user would be very confused with all the customizations i’m making :D
-
GoSoxi haaaate the forum software kde.org uses. its the worst
-
GoSoxill stick to reddit over that
-
cracauernimaje: the Linux marking as "yes, this is for swap" saved me a couple of times. I think it is the right thing to do, but it is difficult to introduce now in FreeBSD. With uuid partitions it is a little less important.
-
cracauerOn the forums we had somebody just recently swapping to a data partition by accident.
-
nimajeBut that marking is already in the partition table as partition type? (no idea if freebsd checks that) Why an extra header on the partition itself?
-
sig`GoSox: X11 or wayland?
-
nmzsig`: None, live on the terminal
-
rwpnimaje, On FreeBSD a swap partition is any partition mounted with swapon(8) and it will mount any partition as swap. In practice any partition listed in /etc/fstab can be mounted as swap. Such as /dev/mymostimportantwork for example.

ketasyes

ketasdon't add random swaps
-
ketaspeople discussed it btw

ketassafe swap labeling
-
ketasdevice is only used if it's marked for swap
