  another thing for IPv6 only networks is that some software build procedures require to fetch packages (e.g. Rust crates) from github so I ended up with a NAT64/DNS64 setup anyway

  yeah, kinda the same situation. and pkgsrc.smartos.org via dns64/nat64 is even less usable to me (both from my physical location and from hetzner)

  I did use packages.pkgsrc.pub for a while but I've not bothered reconfiguring newer zones to use it since I set up the tayga server, the default seems mostly OK to me if occasionally a bit slow
