I've had this box supermicro.com/en/products/system/midtower/5028/SYS-5028A-TN4.cfm running all my home on smartos since 2015. My area was just upgraded from ADSL2 to GPON, and it seems the router zone maxes out at about ~650Mbit. So It tried just some plain routing between vlans with no ipf rules or nat, and it still only does about the same. When watching with mpstat it looks like a single core goes to zero idle while the rest are still

about 80% idle.

I'm just throwing that out there to see if anyone has any tuning suggestions. It's about time I replaced it anyways

Right now I have all 4x1GbE interfaces going into a L2 managed switch in a LAG, and have everything coming in on vlans: isp vlan, local vlan, management vlan, iot vlan

rmustacc: I was able to figure out what was wrong, and it had nothing to do with that segfault
