since upgrading bloody just now, which has pkg://omnios/terminal/tmux⊙3:20240719T074727Z, `ssh -t host tmux` is mis-judging the terminal size, `ssh -t host 'eval $(resize); tmux'` is fine, so resize knows something tmux doesn't.

unfortunately, I think the (chromeos terminal) also got upgraded in the interim, so I can't be sure which end is broken

(I have no idea what the chromeos terminal app is actually called)

I was wondering about the xcurses/termcap thing, but it seems like that was too long ago for it to be that.

all I did was fullscreen a cros terminal, and ssh -t ... tmux

which tmux believes to be 80x25, but resize is correct about

I should note that there has in the past been a cros bug where if I fullscreen a terminal "too fast" (arbitrarily defined) it doesn't actually fully acknowledge I did it, but I don't think `resize` worked then either.

Hey guys, I am coming from Linux and BSD, got curious about illumos distros and came across omni os, anyway you can install a desktop environment on top of it? If yes which one is best supported?

You might find triblix or SmartOS more friendly for desktop operations.

SmartOS? I would say Tribblix or OpenIndiana, which have desktop support out of the box

I really liked the fact that it had a graphical manager though
