Our server vendor says the older cards are getting hard to get. They're talking boneyard at this point.

Is there anything that can be done to push this along?

You should be asking about this on #illumos too. AIUI there's a WIP for the 3108's successor that Racktop is working on.

I didn't get much traction there, though I'll try again.

thing is, we're giving money to OmniOSce, not to Illumos (unless that money is shared somehow).

Doing this bringup requires cycles & HW. I can't speak to other projects but for me to turn my attention to this I'd need a paying support customer to ask, e.g. And I've too many other such tasks right now anyway.

I don't know... I know they take donations, which I do a small amount each month (since HDC runs OmniOS).

It depends on which page of the website you read. Some say support some say donations.

(At least, that was the case when we first signed up for it several years ago. I haven't looked since then.)

"Commercial Support" is the first item of the website's top menue, even before "Donate".

However, I've been told it's not 'really support' as pushback when I've brought it up in the past.

ordinarily I wouldn't care but I have to care this time.

The way I thought of the support meaning is really maintenance of the LTS stream

Hey, has anyone here built illumos-gate lately on OmniOS? Something between February and now has broken it for me on '044. I've pinged the staff, but if someone not-me and not-them has figured it out, I'd love to know.
