because you have to create the role vmimage and a bunch of other stupid bureaucratic shit

copypaste: i triggered a rewrite of the ec2 page just a few weeks ago. if i remember correctly andyf completely rewrote it to be up to date then. personally i gave up after failing to reproduce the instructions. i believe it was due to something (a specific machine type?) missing in the datacentre i needed. guess we all wish it to be both up to date and correct, but as you've noticed amazon doesn't

make trivial things easy. without fully understanding, i'm asking whether you see any way to improve the instructions?

|cos|: yes. if u have never uploaded a snap b4 u have to do my commands in that file up to line 102

b/c by default there is no role called vmimage.
