jclulow: their silent substitution of SMR was a factor for me as well.

I didn't buy my current WD because of WD. I bought them because they were HGST drives but WD had acquired HGST already.

(The predecessors to my current HDC drives were literally HGST/Hitachi drives.)

So maybe I should put Seagate into the running again?
