Anyone have recent experience with the WD Red Pro HDDs? Bonus points if you ALSO have experience with the WD-nee-HGST Ultrastar ones as well?

sommerfeld: Are you, by any chance, using an emacs that's using treesitter, and finding that it's defaulting to a c-mode variant that ignores the default style? (I asked Dan already, with no luck)

danmcd: used them for years but I've moved away from WD Red to seagate ironwolf/ironwolf pro

richlowe: nope, haven't really taken a look at treesitter.

the c-mode customizations for cstyle I did years ago are still limping along for me.

yes, I'm still using them too

but seemingly if I land in `c-ts-mode`, they're fully ignored

ah well, I guess be warned, rather than me hoping you had a solution

my WD blacks are ok and so is HUS726T4TALA6L4 :) had to replace 2 WD in 10 years...

I have WD Ultrastar 14s that, after one RMA on one, *seem* to hold up and no longer have the "oh oops whole mobo reboots w/o a trace of why".

They are > 5 years old and I'd like to put a fresh 3x-mirrored >=22TB pool in once I recase.

(Assuming nothing else comes up first... also I can start with 2 and make it 3...)

mine are in 3+1 raidz.
