wxmaxima only says abort trap under OpenIndiana illumos and won't start. xmaxima works.

i've been meaning to try out rm's fixes on our lab box that hit it, and things have finally quieted down enough I'd be able to kick the tires a bit..

oh i also noticed this system actually reports the crystal frequence in ecx, so I have an actual text system for reporting the tsc frequency on intel systems via cpuid (per intel's developers manual)
