richlowe: what about it?
-
richlowe
whether there's a difference between _V0 (no FMA support possible) and _V1 if you don't use the FMA support
-
rmustacc
richlowe: In general, I recommend folks today use V1 explicitly and say that they don't use the support.
-
richlowe
that's what I was leaning toward, the code in pci_config_setup left me wondering if there were differences. Thanks
-
rmustacc
My read is that V0 is the same as specifying attr_access as DDI_DEFAULT_ACC.
-
rmustacc
As part of things like impl_acc_err_init().

pmooney so something else broke it, I guess not many people are using e1000 as I only confirmed it because of a ML post and nobody else seems to have responded to that post at all.

I've mailed Peter already, but for anyone else who wants to fix nits in the illumos man pages, the second part of
pastebin.com/srs6urMx has a list for you

"wants to" is so easier than "can find time"

I don't know why `prtconf -c` is not `prtconf -r` or `prtconf -R`, but eugh
-
andyf
I suppose to go along with -a ..
-
andyf
and d for descendents is taken..
-
richlowe
-d was taken long after
-
richlowe
but I guess the opposite, and -a couldn't be -p
-
richlowe
it still annoys me

Also, I keep forgetting that time passes: What turns out to be a long time ago now, someone said that pcmcia/cardbus was, in some way, still alive. Is that still true?
-
richlowe
specifically in the pcic(4D)/cardbus(5) sense
-
tsoome_
someone used to run some router based on it if my memory serves...
-
pmooney
seems unlikely now (Re: pcmcia)
