haven't got vrrp to work yet, but the warning seems to indeed come from carp on the same segment.
-
sjorge
So at least that mistery is solved, if I do get vrrp to work I'll need to figure out how not to get these logged because damn that is logged often

sjorge: "ARC cases" were what Sun used to review the overall architecture of projects, so they usually included the draft manual pages of whatever they're describing. But also that means they may not be accurate for the final code, and also in our case that projects described themselves in the open and then we never saw them because the code closed.
-
richlowe
so it's quite possible in those two you have manual pages that predate what we have, and manual pages for enhancements we never saw :\
-
otis
PSARC?
-
richlowe
"ARC" was "architecture review committee", the PS is "platform software" (basically solaris), there's also FW (firmware, OBP) , and LS (layered software) "stuff?". I think Java never partook
-
richlowe
I guess "layered" also got a lot of desktop stuff from solaris
-
otis
I remember PSARC clearly, as I've read it back then

there was also WSARC (web services) for the iPlanet/SunONE/JES stuff

so many arcs, could make you go in circles

*rimshot*

and we didn't even mention ASARC, OPARC, SARC, SHARC, or SNARC, all of which existed at some (sometimes brief) moment in time
-
alanc
oh! I missed ESARC & OZARC
-
richlowe
I could guess a few of those, but not with any certainty
-
alanc
and apparently to drive folks crazy, there was once an ARC named "SPARC"
-
alanc
ASARC - Applications Software (merged into LSARC before my time, but early CDE cases went there), OPARC - Operations, SARC - Services, SHARC - Storage Hardware, SNARC - Systems and Networking Products
-
alanc
SPARC - Storage Platform Architecture Review Committee , ESARC - Embedded Software
-
iximeow
SPARC having no relation to SPARC is very funny
-
alanc
OZARC appears to have been "Object Products" back in the NEO/CORBA days
-
alanc
oh my, WNARC - The ``Windows and Network Software'' Architecture Review Committee, for projects targeting MS interoperability
-
alanc
ah, OZARC was "Object Zone Architecture Review Committee"
-

random trivia, the very first ARC case for any ARC ever was PSARC 1991/001, /proc by raf
