will be illumos be 'rebasing' to the the same openzfs repo as freebsd and linux?

hello all. the sed that comes with illumos supports -E because it seems to be FreeBSD sed. the sed that comes with Solaris 11.3 and 11.4 does not support -E

what would be the right way to refer to a particular version/date that made "sed -E" available in illumos?

Denis: just check if -E is supported instead? there are no "versions" in illumos

So as long as someone is running something at least 10+ years old, you'll have it.

It's worth noting that SmartOS reverted illumos 586 (fenix) though.

andyf: rather than waiting until everyone updates their shadows, can I suggest email telling them to and specifying the tag, and then giving them a week?

I started on that because I got a review comment saying that I should use `%h` in some code I wrote, and when I tried the compiler complained. I wonder how many people have done the same at some point.

The new gcc 10 primary will handle it, so it's just any lingering old shadows. A week is a bit swift though, OmniOS will probably take a couple of weeks to update gcc 7 on all releases.
