sjorge my intel mac is too old to upgrade to ventura:)

tsoome I maanged to downgrade to Mont... whatever the previous one was but the .3 release has the same bug -_-

I was also able to replicate it on my older macbook air (that I don't use often, should have started with this one tbh) 12.2 OK, 12.3 broken, 13.0 broken

Just have to wait I guess, good thing work is super busy I hardly have time or the will to do other IT stuff after work now :D

external display was always a nightmare for me on macs, even the "recommended" lg models (panics!, not coming back from sleep, losing the resolution after sleep, and so on); one of the reasons i went back to windows laptops

For whatever reason the latency with which the services will authenticate me appears to have gone up so high that by the time my client tries to join I'm still not authenticated

so

I turned it off :P

I think things are generally much better here than on freenode from an abuse perspective, so we'll see how it goes

jclulow: try using sasl auth, it authenticates you just after connect, it looks like

yeh I switched to that a while back, primarily for #illumos, it seems to work well

I think I _am_ doing that

It just takes sometimes ages to actually kick in

for me it's "SASL authentication succeeded" followed by "Welcome to the Libera.Chat Internet Relay Chat Network yuripv", so it waits (?!) for auth to complete (?!)

I'm doing certificate auth
