kerneldove: I think so? I've had issues with some static setups. I just disable resolvconf:

echo "resolvconf=NO" >> /etc/resolvconf.conf

Then, whatever I place in /etc/resolv.conf remains static and normal.

i spent so much time trying to get it right with resolvconf, passing it just the right interfaces and stuff. but yea dunno either i suck or it does because i have trouble w it but not most system components like rc

i think i'll standardize on disabling it as well ek tyvm for tip!

makes sense too i already prefer doing config via files than commands

kerneldove: Yep. If I absolutely do not need resolvconf for anything (like *VPN stuff, WG stuff, whatever might want to change DNS, gateways, blah), I just disable it all together. I find very little need resolvconf.

That would really be the only time. All my servers are just simply static. There's zero need for resolvconf.
