why does freebsd with geli keeps rebooting after X minutes if the passkey is not entered at boot ?

like, geli asks for the passkey to boot

time passes by, machine gets auto rebooted

whats the rationale ?

Newly trying freebsd on a laptop. As an emacs user, was surprised to see that freebsd's emacs port is already updated to a pretest version. I guess this is up to individual port maintainer? Note: I don't mind - in fact, quite happy to see (and can easily build stable if preferred). It just wasn't expected and I'm now curious about port versioning generally.

yeah, up to the port maintainer, but the guideline is to use release versions and maybe add a -devel port with a development version, like RCs or something
