jperkinjfqd: interesting, looks like an upgrade from 2021 or earlier to current, did you upgrade pkgin first?
-
jperkinjfqd: what it means is that you have two ncurses directories in /opt/local/pkg, the easiest fix is to just remove the older directory, but I'd first check to see that the new one is populated correctly (should have similar files inside, just with different contents)
-
jperkinprobably an upgrade scenario that the older pkgin didn't handle correctly, ncurses was overhauled a while back so ncursesw was superseded
-
jperkinlatest pkgin now always does a self-upgrade first so makes these even less likely once you are past that
-
jfqdjperkin: Yes I ugraded pkgin first. Will check the /opt/local/pkg paths later. Thx a lot for your help!
-
jfqdI saw that pkgin first upgrade itself and the a second run is needed to upgrade all other packages.
-
jperkinhmm that's odd then, and you didn't unpack any tarballs over the top or anything?
-
jperkinif latest pkgin didn't upgrade it correctly then we have a problem
-
jfqdSorry, just a regular pkgin ug
-
jfqdThis issue appeared after the first time updating pkgin manually like you wrote in your email to the smartos list (with the php stuff).
-
jperkinfrom a 2021 trunk or 2020Q4 or similar?
-
jperkinI do occasionally run upgrades from really old installs to test things but will try to reproduce this
-
jfqdWe do only have trunk, but this is a really old image, could be before 2021 :-)
-
jperkinchecking the changelog it'll have been between these two dates
-
jperkinUpdated devel/ncurses to 6.2nb4 [wiz 2021-10-09]
-
jperkinUpdated devel/ncurses to 6.2nb5 [jperkin 2021-11-03]
-
jperkinjfqd: also trunk is open again after 2025Q2 so I'll get those powerdns updates in anyway, saves me a patchset diff..
-
jfqdjperkin: I saw you comment in the ticket :-) Will try out the new powerdns build by the end of the week. Thx a lot for your help & work!
