  is there something like numastat on illumos/smartos which tells you how many times your processes had to access memory "on the other side"?

  Not that I'm aware of. That would be something to bring up on the illumos-discuss mailing list.

  `mpstat` keep track of `xcal` (cross-calls) but that's for the whole system...
