is there a correct way to add a new terminal type to the global zone like "alacritty"? for the last 6 years I just export TERM=xterm to get by but wondering what others do

You're missing terminfo for something?

yeah, i mean on native zones I create it works, but the global zone i get "WARNING: terminal is not fully functional" whenever I run less or vi until I set it to something that it has in its default terminfo

on freebsd systems, I usually have to do this: tic -xe alacritty,alacritty-direct alacritty.info

newer linuxen have these new terminal emulators now ... like alacritty, foot, gnome-term, etc
