On smartos platform 20231113xxxx (danmcd special build, iirc), newly installed machine, after using pkgin to install py312 which brought an openssl update, pkgin doesn't run (pkgin: fatal: libssl.so.1.1: open failed: No such file or directory). I think the pkgin in the tools tarball that was extracted by the installer is older, like 2022 date, if I didn't misread something.

So, (a) is this already fixed?

(b) is this self-induced foot damage?

Global zone. The installer pulls the tools tarball, yes.

Obviously an openssl 3.x migration loveliness. Just deciding how I should cope here.

run `pkgsrc-setup --clean`

it will re-bootstrap pkgsrc and then reinstall all of your currently-installed packages automatically.
