pjusticeOn smartos platform 20231113xxxx (danmcd special build, iirc), newly installed machine, after using pkgin to install py312 which brought an openssl update, pkgin doesn't run (pkgin: fatal: libssl.so.1.1: open failed: No such file or directory). I think the pkgin in the tools tarball that was extracted by the installer is older, like 2022 date, if I didn't misread something.
-
pjusticeSo, (a) is this already fixed?
-
pjustice(b) is this self-induced foot damage?
-
bahamatpjustice: Is this in pkgsrc-tools?
-
bahamatin the global zone?
-
pjusticeGlobal zone. The installer pulls the tools tarball, yes.
-
pjusticeObviously an openssl 3.x migration loveliness. Just deciding how I should cope here.
-
bahamatrun `pkgsrc-setup --clean`
-
bahamatit will re-bootstrap pkgsrc and then reinstall all of your currently-installed packages automatically.
-
jperkinthe latest tools tarball fixes all those types of problems
-
pjusticeSo a newer platform and updated installer will pull the newer tools tarball, and presto?
-
bahamatYeah.
-
pjusticebahamat: that did revive pkgin.
-
pjusticeAs always, you folks are awesome!
-
bahamatpjustice: the next release will use the updated bootstrap.
-
bahamatOS-8520 for reference.
