  I don't think so? I just did `curl kebe.com` on my freshly-installed gcc10.4 test VM, and it was okay.

  pmooney: The PI itself has never had a certificate store for curl/wget.

  ISTR being able to curl down new PI images at one point, but maybe I'm mis-remembering?

  node does have one that's pretty much only used for imgadm. But if you install pkgsrc-tools, then curl is configured to use it by default.

  "it" being the mozilla-rootcerts package that comes with pkgsrc-tools for the gz.

  If you're on a new enough PI you can use /smartdc/bin/pkgsrc-setup to install it.
