i came across almost the same, with smartos, where smartpqi were not being recognized. marcel telka (and some other guys) merged smartpqi support from nexenta

i see no disks - but i think the controller does not present some disks in hba mode right now

bahamat: do you know in postgres clusters what to query to know if the primary can't accept writes because it has no sync peers?
-
huy
hello, I'm getting INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 with netatalk3-3.1.13nb3 under 22.4.0 base-64-lts, seems to be
Netatalk/Netatalk #175

bahamat

huy: Also, macOS clients work well with SmartOS's native SMB service. There's a document on enabling it, which also includes how to advertise via bonjour, and even doing TimeMachine:
docs.smartos.org/configuring-smb-in…dvertising-smb-services-via-bonjour
-
huy
bahamat: thanks, I'll have a look
-
bahamat
There's also work going on that will enable automatic bonjour advertisements when SMB is configured.
-
huy
someone already filed an issue
TritonDataCenter/pkgsrc #348
-
bahamat
OK, great.
-
jbk
it works, but it needs some additional work -- if you do have netatalk in the same zone, and try to advertise time machine, the two mDNS entries conflict
-
jbk
and i'd like to handle that better
-
jbk
right now the messages you get can look scary
-
jbk
but aside from that, I've been running a smartos build w/ it for a month or so..
-
bahamat
Is that in gate yet? Or you're just running your own?
-
jbk
just my own build
-
jbk
gordon wants to talk about implementing it completely differently
-

bahamat: postgres=# SHOW default_transaction_read_only; postgresMgr will put the primary into default_transaction_read_only
-
Smithx10
if there is no sync. so that's a decent way to tell if we have a primary that can't do writes
-
bahamat
Smithx10: You're not talking about for *manatee* are you? Just PG in general?
-
Smithx10
Manatee
-
Smithx10
And I guess pg since that’s what manatee uses
-
Smithx10
I guess I’m learning that postgres is pretty much ok with moving forward writing even if replication is down ?
-
Smithx10
I guess I’m learning that postgres is pretty much ok with moving forward writing even if replication is down ?
-
bahamat
You should be using something like manatee-adm show for that kind of thing.
