This looks like you're booting first from not-zones and you're stuck with the PI on whatever is in your virtual USB key or virtual CD-ROM drive.

Phew! I have a VMware VM whose sole purpose is to test new installations. I often forget to either

danmcd for netboot I'm trying to boot smartos through pxe, on oracle cloud, it loads the boot files then stalls and then I get back to the efi shell

1.) Wipe the disk COMPLETELY clean so it fails on boot

OR

2.) Remove the VIrtual CD drive so it won't boot by accident.

I don't know how to help you on the ipxe problem immediately. Sorry.

YW. Thank you for the industrial strength field trial. BTW I have another branch with a forklift upgrade to 3.2.7, BUT I had to disable more than a few of its new features that use 3rd-party libraries. Your confirmation means the patch-alone is sufficient.

Is there a way to recover a dead smartos installation or I just reinstall? I deleted several files in the GZ now I can boot but services won't start

Your gz was copied to hd or something?

pjustice I remove several files from / the ones that could be deleted as I saw the messages now rebooting some services don't start among them ssh so something broke
