Isn't it just a web front-end? By the time you learn illumos you probably don't need it.

I use NFS, sending to my other systems, via 'share'. I've not used SMB on Omni yet.

No, I have Omni on an old gaming machine from (maybe 2012?), a tower, and in that (bhyve) I have OI. Omni also does NFS and a VMS node (via SIMH).

I don't think illumos will run all my hardware and do all the networking stuff I need, so main = Slackware Linux.

I have a old laptop with two SSD for just a nfs server ... mint lmde on desktop

probably no need for a front end to omnios
