DivanSantana: lxzones are a container using the illumos kernel that is emulating the linux syscalls so whilst it can be a lower overhead you may find some things don't work correctly and may fail in some silent and non-obvious ways.

i had some weird behaviour with a program for tagging mp4 files (

(atomicparsley), works on proper linux

works if compiled in an omnios zone, but write mostly empty files in an lxzone (packaged or built from source). (but the native illumos version does work correctly inside the lxzone)

I've not had the time (or need) to try and debug more than finding the weird behaviour and work arounds.

at this point it's more just a useful example of how lxzones can make life interesting (that said - I do like them when whats running in them works properly)
