x0x17hi all

ik5pvxdoes the r151054 mean something or is it just a number?
-
ptribbleThe 151 piece refers to the very last OpenSolaris source release - which is basically the OpenSolaris version that illumos got forked from.
-
ptribbleThen OmiOS just increments its own version on top (by 2 every 6 months - in theory there's an odd-numbered development version in the gaps)
-
ptribbles/OmiOS/OmniOS/ - oops
-
ptribbleSo we've now had 27 releases, which makes the distro 13.5 years old.
-
andyfJust beat me to it :) There is a diagram on omnios.org/schedule which shows the release numbers and cadence. I think OmniTI just started with 151001 when they got going, technically v11 r151001
-
ik5pvxthanks, I've always wondered about the 151 part
-
ptribbleYeah, if you look at the early OpenIndiana releases, they were mostly 151a, although there were early versions of OpenIndiana before the fork finally happened
