is there a config option for zones to do dhcp? i know i can do ips=dhcp for lx, but reading man pages it seems like this isnt supported for the "native" brands

patrikr: When I looked I couldn't find anything (although may also have missed it), however it looked like you could manually configure dhcp in the zone once it was booted and it seemed to work for me

yeah i ended up doing that, just would be nice if it could be done automatically
