I don't think the answer has changed - it seems like time to remove it from gate, I don't know if we'd remove it from omnios just yet.

It might be a good time to state that r46 will be the last LTS release that supports it though, and work with the few remaining users that are stuck on grub for whatever reason

By definition, they are the difficult cases (can't easily schedule downtime, can't get remote access, etc.)

please note that "removing grub" means a bit more that just removing grub. there are also bits in libbe, bootadm, halt etc.

It would definitely be nice to clean all that up
