I have not paid much attention to .gitignore files, so it's quite possible I missed those.

gwr: the only thing you can do to stay sane is habitually run `git status` after you build

and also have not disabled the untracked noise

I've gotten used to running "git status -uno" because a lot of places don't have complete .gitignore coverage.

gwr: illumos _does_ have complete coverage, because pmooney did it for some reason

but that complete coverage is only complete after the build, there is noise _during_ the build

Hm. My main use cases where it would matter to me is partial builds in selected directories.

I'd tried to encourage someone -- who I think was talking to people using some kind of more automatic version control thing -- to dtrace for any creat under CODEMGR_WS

because presumably otherwise if they're unlucky they add/remove the temporary sqlite databases or whatever whenever they run their status command
