do we have a big hammer tunable to make pageout work harder, or do we just tune the normal tunables to untennable values?
-
Agnar
richlowe: well, you could consume more memory, that will increase the scan rate and make pressure on paging, but I'm not aware of any tuneables
-
Agnar
oh wait, of course the memory caps could help for single processes

so I need to grab an IPD number or three; Till has an outstanding pull request for an IPD 62 which has not been merged which doesn't update the top-level README.md index.. Would it be OK if I update the index to claim 62 for his and 63 for mine without linking them just yet?

rmustacc: regarding #17998 - does the OpenGroup provide a test suite for their posix releases? I'm just curious because I was on a covention with Woodstock to promote illumos/oi and got asked if we adpoted to the newest posix standard and I started wondering if there is a test kit
-
Agnar
ah, forget it. found it :)
-
richlowe
catching up to posix is sort of an ongoing as-its-necessary project
-
wiedi
-
Agnar
wiedi: oh thanks for that!
-
Agnar
richlowe: yes, I know - and you are always behind usually. I just wondered for test suites, because people asked :)
-
richlowe
I don't know if it's "behind" or "waiting for someone to actually need it"
-
richlowe
The "real" tests are a product, we don't have those.
-
richlowe
other people's tests people have used as appropriate
-
Agnar
sure
-
Agnar
I was wondering if the test suite is free and the certificate is the product or both :) but I got that now, thanks
-
richlowe
I think alanc knows the specifics, because tehy're in a position to have paid before :)
-
richlowe
but I _think_ you end up paying for both :)
-
Agnar
hehe, afaik oracle didn't spend any more money on it. I think I read somewhere that they are not posix certified anymore
