Hi there, I have a question about illumos drivers. Even in HBA mode i cannot seem to get Adaptec ASR8405 working since it seems unsupported (only very old Adaptec controllers are listed at illumos.org/hcl). Sadly Hetzner only offers Adaptec controllers nowaday (their support said that). Any ideas ? Any drivers I could try ? Did I miss something ?

Maybe there is some other provider that can offer more compatible hardware?

@elwisp (sorry i got disconnected) when you say a different provider. Do you mean loading that driver on top of the Adaptec device ?

no i was suggesting getting compatible hardware if the one you have is not supported

but perhaps you can load proprietary drivers if available?

@elwisp sadly hetzner does not offer that. i am looking into alternative servers with them, but they dont list the hardware (at least not the controller, so its a lot of back and forth)
