andyf: just found 17734. to me it looks safe to set zfs_fsync_sync_cnt to 0 with mdb to mitigate the issue on a running system. can you confirm that?

janosch - Yes, that mitigates the worst of it. There are still another couple of places that write reordering can occur, which are covered in the change I have up for review.
