Woodstock: I'm not sure, but I can't immediately imagine why not. I think we're pretty much doing the same linear framebuffer rendering in the BIOS and UEFI contexts these days with wscons, assuming you don't pick VGA text mode on the BIOS system

What are you seeing?

Enabled Intel ICH AC'97 audio output at my local OI illumos virtual machine. Installing drivers/audio and drivers/audiohd, works good now. Found totem and rhythmbox as only GUI audio/video players.

Rhythmbox looks high quality with the Nimbis GTK+ look and feel.

Listening to audio/sound works good with OI illumos after installing drivers on a Debian KVM/qemu host. MATE audio controls work good.

I think ICH9 audio does not work. I think I have not tried ICH6 yet.

Intel ICH6 + ICH9 audio does not work. ICH AC'97 Intel audio is working.
