That's a thought, when I fire it up again I'll try to see what the virtualized 850 Pros report vs direct access ones.

Looking at prtvtoc output, both virt and real drives show as 512bytes/sector, total sector count differs slight with the virt drives being 2mil smaller. (250m vs 248m)

hrm... is there a way to get the name (the 36 code word/72 byte UTF-16 name) of an EFI partition? I'm not seeing anything obvious in format or prtvtoc or fdisk

maybe extend prtvtoc -e to display it (it already displays the GUID and a descriptive name if known)

Something I need to benchmark - As a file store, is 288GB RAM at 800mhz better than 192GB at 1333mhz? That's a lot of potential ARC lost. I need to rig up a test setup.
