I have said things about illumos in gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/glib/-/merge_requests/4351 which I believe to be true, but have not actually tested on any illumos distro, just solaris 11.4

alanc: I ended up adding PRIfooID for us, because of bloody id_t

libelf is used in the implementation of docs.gtk.org/gio/struct.Resource.html but I don't know the details

we've been shipping glib like this in Solaris for years, just finally getting around to upstreaming the patch
