jperkin: did you ever find time to look into the samba issue I hit? Trying to decide if I should upgrade pkgsrc in that zone for the xz stuff

I don't think pkgsrc has a way of "locking" a package does it?

like today golang/go #66648 (if go reject it like they have done for syscall stuff in the past then other distros might want to implement this locally too)

what I can do as a workaround is provide an older unbroken version of samba in pkgsrc-extra then if you install that the newer version will be ignored
