Does anyone well-versed in the guts of SMF (as in, capable and confident about implementing new features there) plan to be present? :)

why not just write the uname wrapper in shell (instead of asm?!) or simply modify the installer script removing uname calls :D

andyf, sjorge thanks!, I saw /usr/lib/rsrvrctl in smartos seems vmadm needs to wire that up. I'll work with my omnios server then to see that option, I was testing some changes I did for illumos.org/issues/15859 hoping I did not broke vmm
