vetal_tsoome: "why slog tests in zfs-test allocate space from rpool". Probably it needs enough number of block devices?
-
tsoomethose tests are asking for 3 disks to perform tests. if anything more is asked, this should be documented.
-
tsoomeunfortunately, it is really poorly documented and buggy as hell.
-
richlowetsoome_: the best you could do is work it out and improve the documentation
-
richlowetsoome_: I know danmcd runs them as part of an over-arching set of smartos tests, and presumably knows things.
-
richloweso does jbk
-
danmcdtsoome_: it doesn't hurt me that my test (VMware) machine has ramdisk root, protected-large-ish-pool `zones`, and SSD backing it up on the VMware host (a Mac).
-
danmcdI'm SURE zfs-tests could use more documentation love.
-
jbki have a vm w/ three 12gb disks that i use for most of my zfs test runs
-
jbki haven't had any issues with it so far *knock on wood*
-
jbkwouldn't want to have to create a new vm
-
tsoome_tsoome@beastie:/code/release/usr/src/test$ git log | grep -c zfs-tests
-
tsoome_24
-
jbkbut pure luck, the first part of the UUID is like the first 5-6 digits of pi :)
-
tsoome_7 out of those 24 are done by me.
-
jbkso i keep it around if only for that :)
-
alancgotta love notes from 1992 promising to clean up the csh source code someday "in the future": github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/blob/master/usr/src/cmd/csh/README
-
richloweI'm glad we're slowly setting it on fire
-
richlowewhich i guess I need to write a thing about someday soon
