Assassink786[m]anyone has tried solaris powerpc on qemu?
-
infinite[m]Assassink786[m]: nope
-
Assassink786[m]<Assassink786[m]> "anyone has tried solaris powerpc..." <- i have got the cd but dont know how to work on
-
infinite[m]Assassink786[m]: polaris?
-
infinite[m]sounds like powervm,but big-endian
-
ptribbleThere were 2 - Solaris 2.5.1 had a PowerPC port; Polaris was the much later OpenSolaris on PowerPC project
-
sjorgeis it only xhce bloking fast reboot? i though one of the sas hba ones was doing so too?
-
richlowesjorge: oh, it's lots of stuff, but xhci is the one that's in basically every computer to exist
-
richloweptribble, etc: I think the polaris port would do something in qemu, I don't think 2.5.1 would
-
richloweunless you found exactly something prep and also old enough.
-
richlowemaybe alanc or someone knows what hardware it was actually supported on, all I can think of is prep reference machines
-
sjorgeyeah i was under the impression my SM X11 box has like 2-3 drivers preventing it. xhce is indeed rather prevalent
-
alancprep reference machines would have been my guess - I know we scrapped a closet full of them when we were moving out of a Sun building around 2001, but I don't remember what exactly they were
-
alancmight have been one of the RS/6000 models though
-
alancheh, there you go: vmenow.com/images/802-4540.pdf
-
ptribbleThat's a pretty short list. And wasn't there something odd about being the right endian-ness to trip you up as well?
