On modern bits, does one still need to installl the bootblock when replacing a disk in a mirror ?

Also wasn't there a way to make a nvme led blink to identify it ?

All I have in my notes is /usr/lib/dl/dlled which is for nics

OK omnios guide still mentions: bootadm install-bootloader -P rpool omnios.org/info/migrate_rpool.html

So I guess it's still needed

Yeah, I'm booting via UEFI

I only had 2 nvme slots I split the rpool, swapped and attached the new disk

I vaguely remember it working without anything for UEFI

But eh command didn't error out so

Will be rebooting after a sanity scrub

sjorge hm. actually, after checking, this does apply on attach, see /etc/sysevent/config/SUNW,EC_zfs,ESC_ZFS_bootfs_vdev_attach,sysevent.conf

I did a split, attach, split, attach
