Who was asking about running Solaris CBE under bhyve?

It seems to work on OmniOS if you set `hostbridge=none` `type=windows` and `netif=e1000`

I then compiled the illumos vioif driver and dropped that in, and was able to switch to using that for the network, but that's obviously optional

Oh, it was on illumos-discuss, found it and replied. I think tomww was also wanting to get this going.

It's possible it isn't, it was in the final option set that got it booting but I haven't gone back and stripped things out to confirm they are necessary.

and now I can't put the hostbridge back otherwise it fails to find its root pool

pmooney - confirmed, that hostbridge is load bearing - or at least leaving it at i440fx causes the guest to hang during boot, just after loading 'dld'

speaking of hanging during boot, is anyone else keeping an eye on the thread on the OI lists?

I am finally getting an install going. This is accually the second try. The first try I was not connected to the internet. That went poorly as one would expect.

I got the system installed. It booted up correctly. I almost logged in before it froze(?). I powered it off, now its giving a BTX halted error

Oh what fun.
