As a helix user....I have tried the clangd tie in with illumos-gate and it has a lot of rough edges. cscope/tags were still ideal

jperkin: any chance you're taking pkgsrc pkg requests? :)
-
bahamat
jbk: We do. What package are you looking for?
-
jbk
tpm2-tss --- i pretty much at the point of trying to start testing, but really would prefer to avoid crafting artisinal TPM command buffers :)
-
jbk
w/ a tpm2 driver
-
jbk
it's autotools-heavy and last time I tried messing with it, I ended up with a Makefile that was half make/half m4
-
jbk
i figure there might be some more experience elsewhere that knows what's going on :)
-
bahamat
Is it userland?
-
jbk
yes
-
jbk
i've written most of a tpm2 driver
-
jbk
but I need to be able to send commands to it and such
-
jbk
and the tpm2-tss library provides a library for creating/parsing the packets you send/recv from the device for commands
-
jbk
well i should say, the driver is pretty much far enough to send/recv commands.. there is another bit that should be done before i'd consider it ready
-
jbk
basically arbitrate between multiple clients (there's a spec for this)
-
jbk
which IMO should be done by the kernel
-
jperkin
sure, happy to take a look
-
jbk
unlike tpm1.2 devices, tpm2.0 are actually useful :)
-
jbk
the 2.0 spec mandates a reasonable set of supported mechanisms, amount of NV storage, and clarifies some ambiguous behavior from 1.2
-
jbk
there might also be some potentially interesting things we could do in illumos, but that can come later..
-
jbk
(all opt-in of course)

stupid question: I feel like we have a containerof() but I can't find it.
-
richlowe
where is it?
-
nahamu
-
nahamu
*or in go?
-
richlowe
oh, underscores!
-
nahamu
You seem less confused now, but I am more confused. so a regular day on IRC...
-
richlowe
I think part of your confusion is you think we1re in #illumos-go?
-
richlowe
or I think we're in #illumos and one of us is wrong
-
nahamu
LOL
-
nahamu
I am the one who doesn't know where they are. Thank you.

jperkin
it's built against the (newly released today!) 2022Q4 release, it _may_ install against trunk, otherwise you can either test it on SmartOS or grab the 2022Q4 bootstrap kit from the usual place
-
tux0r
ooh, new updates
-
jperkin
I had to disable a couple of options (fapi, policy, tcti-cmd) as they aren't portable, might be possible to get them working, but not today, hope none of them are critical
-
tux0r
thank you for your hard work :)
-
jperkin
welcome!

[illumos-gate] 15305 mac_drop_chain calls freemsg with non-singleton chain -- Luqman Aden <luqman⊙oc>
-
jbk
wow great!
-
jbk
thanks
-
jperkin
lemme know how it goes and I'll commit to pkgsrc proper if it's ok
