As a helix user....I have tried the clangd tie in with illumos-gate and it has a lot of rough edges. cscope/tags were still ideal

yes

i've written most of a tpm2 driver

but I need to be able to send commands to it and such

and the tpm2-tss library provides a library for creating/parsing the packets you send/recv from the device for commands

well i should say, the driver is pretty much far enough to send/recv commands.. there is another bit that should be done before i'd consider it ready

basically arbitrate between multiple clients (there's a spec for this)

which IMO should be done by the kernel

unlike tpm1.2 devices, tpm2.0 are actually useful :)

the 2.0 spec mandates a reasonable set of supported mechanisms, amount of NV storage, and clarifies some ambiguous behavior from 1.2

there might also be some potentially interesting things we could do in illumos, but that can come later..

it's built against the (newly released today!) 2022Q4 release, it _may_ install against trunk, otherwise you can either test it on SmartOS or grab the 2022Q4 bootstrap kit from the usual place

I had to disable a couple of options (fapi, policy, tcti-cmd) as they aren't portable, might be possible to get them working, but not today, hope none of them are critical
