I'm able to run kmdb now in a smartos through ipxe, which commands will help identify if there an issue on a disk driver? I'm running ::devbindings for vioscsi , sd and vioif drivers

what are you trying to troubleshoot?

jbk I cannot format a disk, and trying fdisk also fails according to tsoome the instance #0 of the disk has issues this is what I run on mdb -k termbin.com/jgw3

jbk here is what tsoome saw on this here seems to some sort of incompatibility; you have vioscsi, to vioscsi you have connected iport, but also something unknown (nulldriver) and disk (sd driver). disk with sd driver is providing device c1t0d1 with sector size 512 and device size 46GB. Yet for some reason, you are getting those IO errors while reading the disk...

btw, you want 'struct sd_lun' with sd_state

hmm maybe -- it sounds like it's not reporting LUN 0

IIRC, we send a 'report luns' command to the target to discover what luns exist, it sounds like from that bug and from what you showed (c1t0d1, but not c1t0d0) suggests it's only reporting the LUNS other than 0

neirac: I don't know offhand, I'd have to look at the vioscsi code (it's been months, so I can't recall offhand)
