Mono seems to have a lot of stuff that won't work on Illumos

it's not a problem, Unity doesn't dupport Illumos anyhow and it's central to my build

GetAllNetworkInterfaces seems like it could just use ifconfig -a though

sorry, just commenting, working on my client's project and random stuff in the .NET docs says it won't work on Illumos (or Solaris)

my OI/Illumos box won't even run X on the console, it sits in the floor and I ssh in

I have a (slightly) paying client and am doing a cross platform data collection thing with Unity. Not sure it's easier than just using raw Mono but it's what I am being paid for,

and the most my client understands about Illumos is that it's more Unix than Linux but he barely understands what that actually means. :)

dangergrrl: Some people also use Godot game engines for UI, purely for the Widget and GUI framework I can imagine most GUI frameworks outside game engine have given up do to lack if need for them.

Godot is nice and has a nice simple language if needed.

I am used to C, you just have to hang on listen(2)

i have produced about 1k lines of actual code in this and have more in the GUI stuff which doesn't count

anyway my present task is simplish except it's threaded so i have to use thread safe stuff

anyway i worked on SYSV back in the days that KS_HOLD0LOCKS() was still a thing, i don't see that in illumos

but mono provides thread safe FIFO so I should be okay

i have to finish this project for a tiny amount of funds and then I could probably submit my fix for yacc

ltp was used as part of testing lx zones (and still is when changes go in there)

There's quite a lot that lx zones don't implement (and Linux keeps adding more!)

It sounds like the right people should be aware then. lx zones are not in illumos-gate, they were added back into SmartOS by Joyent and then side-pulled to OmniOS by OmniTI, so it's SmartOS and OmniOS people who usually take on lx bugs/enhancements.
