for kernel mapfiles (usr/src/uts/common/mapfiles).. for missing symbols that arguably should be in say ddi.mapfile (e.g. 'memcmp(9F)'), any preference on separate ticket vs. change that needs the addition?

I'd add them as I needed them, and make sure robert reviewed it
