NixOS/nixpkgs #82131 is a thing I have done for FreeBSD cross compilation

it would be nice to have illumos cross compilation too!

Kupo! BSD is rather far from the illumos userspace

linux despite being written seperately more closely implements a System V userspace

and sorro for the Kupo, I play too much final fantasy

for reliable cross building, i would defer to Larry Wall

or maybe gnu autoconf but it's complicated

the perl stuff is easier to understand in a few hours

and i always thought that perl is write-only language

perl can be readable, but it does take discipline to do so
