CrtxReavr: according to
httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/rewrite/rewritemap.html#dbm, it looks like you need to re-run httxt2dbm on your RewriteMap databases
-
CrtxReavr
I have no .dbm files.
-
ivy
then this message does not appear to affect you

And that URL means Apache, PHP (with GD support) is working - so all good.

Oh, sorry. Still lovely

RE: packages vs ports, I've found ports less-stable than the package situation, even though I'd prefer to use ports
-
rtprio
people still use apache these days?
-
mzar
sure, they do
-
oldcomputer
I'd prefer freenginx instead
-
mzar
it depends on the use case
-
rtprio
i've never found any of apache's threading models best for any use case
-
mzar
usually it has nothing to do with threading

i've never found any of apache best for any use case

Retrofan
Hi guys
-
Retrofan
After updating everything using Windows PE.. Now the internet is back on Freebsd!!
-
Retrofan
It was just a bug in DASH
-
Retrofan
I will set the plan for using SIM only for the near future; as I will gonna move to a place which nearly no landline there (It's so poor quality)..
-
Retrofan
Thank you all for help :D
-
Retrofan
I think this bug about HP 6305 SFF need to be mentioned in the Freebsd Wiki, and it's fix.. This bug only happen with Unix (not linux) BSD
-
vkarlsen
Retrofan: What's the bug and what was the fix?
-
Retrofan
Bug in the firmware of those kind of PCs
-
Retrofan
vkarlsen: HP released some updates for that, which need to be installed
-
Retrofan
Only appears on Unix
-
Retrofan
not linux (like *BSD)
-
Retrofan
With DASH system of the bios
-
Retrofan
-
Retrofan

-
Retrofan
So I was talking about warning user from this in the Wiki
-
Retrofan
It worked for me about 3 years on BSD, but suddenly appeared... which will make you think it's a problem in anything else
-
Retrofan
This long period will make you feel like it can be never a compatibility problem..
-
Retrofan
Appeared from really simple behavior.. removing and reattach the Ethernet cable, which as I think cleaned the temp memory of DASH, making the problem appears; So the new update makes able to run lan with DASH disabled..
-
Retrofan
Look like you never read my old chat: the problem is Connected to lan, but no internet
-
vkarlsen
This sounds like a case for a blog post rather than a FreeBSD wiki article
-
Retrofan
Blog?
-
Retrofan
It should be mentioned for this compatibility problem, like 6005
-
vkarlsen
The solution is to upgrade the bios?
-
Retrofan
Yeah, and the NIC firmware
-
Retrofan
Disabling DASH
-
vkarlsen
That doesn't sound like a compatibility problem for the OS
-
Retrofan
Freebsd (or any *BSD, UNIX) will distory the NIC firmware, making Ethernet not usable for any other OS
-
Retrofan
even windows
-
Retrofan
So is installing BSD on those machines is danger without updating
-
Retrofan
Machines affected is HP 6305 SFF and Minitower
-
Retrofan
It's a bug in those machines, really need to warn users from it in wiki to do before installed; to prevent the breaking of DASH
-
Retrofan
*installing
-
Retrofan
Leaving..

freebsd-update upgrade is really just a pre to install.. killing it half way thru isn't an issue?
-
skered
Forgot I was just the machine I just upgraded as a jumpbox.
-
phlux
as self-proclaimed FreeBSD noob, what are we using to do package upgrades, and how often are most doing it?
-
phlux
just `pkg update` and `pkg upgrade` i assume
-
skered
As often as you see fit.
-
skered
phlux: Make watch `pkg audit` for any security issues and hope there's a package to be upgraded.
-
phlux
Oh, nice
-
phlux
thank you :)
