The the wrong this is downloaded as the go.mod file. "13B Mar 26 16:53 go.mod -> g20250326.mod". 20250326.mod is a zip file of the whole Github repository

I think you should delete the GO_MODULE line and run make gomod-vendor. It's currently trying to use itself as a module.

I think I got it. Turns out they had some tags/releases. gist.github.com/tuaris/ac5b0bcc2e04ae331b44304b602bbe63 As soon as I switched to that, it worked flawlessly.

I'll test the port for a few days and then submit :)
