BushmasterHowdy Folks, what i am interested to know is, it is possible to install screen casting software Vokoscreen on FreeBSD?
-
nimajeseems like it should work vkohaupt/vokoscreenNG #302
-
dvlmzar: Any ideas why my OpenVPN clients on 14.1-RELEASE get errors, but upgrading them to 14.2 solves the problem? This was before my recent DCO changes. dan.langille.org/2025/03/09/problem…-is-freebsd-14-2-and-client-is-14-1\
-
mzardvl: I have no idea
-
dvlmzar: I'm going to post a PR because I think should should be looked at, not necessarily to fix, but at least to understand.
-
mzarTBH I don't know who can/should troblesoot it
-
ring0_starrhi, can somebody help me understand this wiki.freebsd.org/arm/Allwinner/booting
-
ring0_starri have an allwinner64 target (h5) that is running a Cortex-A53, so the latter instruction is the one that would apply ("Alternatively on 64 bits SoCs you can put u-boot in an alternate location that doesn't conflict with GPT table ")
-
ring0_starrit says to write the bootloader to offset 128k (0x20000)
-
ring0_starrif I were to do this, how would the bootrom know to start executing it?
-
ring0_starra known working rom which runs Linux shows that the SPL along with the information table starts at 8k (offset 0x2000) like the first set of instructions tells you to do. but the aarch64 memstick image does have the GPT table right in the middle of where uboot would go
-
ring0_starrin order for this to work, wouldn't I need to split the spl from uboot itself?
-
ring0_starrin which case, how could these instructions work?? what is the point of this port existing in the ports tree??
-
ring0_starr
-
ring0_starrit seems like this "EmmanuelVadot" user changed the reasonable instructions to these confusing ones that imply it's possible to copy the entire u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin to an arbitrary offset and it'll just work

parsa2820Hey, I want to try FreeBSD as a daily driver on an old Asus laptop (K570). Any advice? Especially with the wireless network card.
